URGENT! Make A Mircacle Happen for the Ancient Inca Indians

URGENT.  PLEASE READ AND SHARE WITH ALL YOU KNOW.  TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

We don’t exactly know why the Inca Indians of Peru left their incredible hidden city of Machu Picchu in the Andes Mountains of Peru, but less than 24 hours now exist to help bring them back to life through our first of its kind-interactive book for the iPad we endeavor to design, shoot, write and build through a Kickstarter.com campaign you can still make a pledge to and support.  With your pledge, we stand a chance of creating a miracle–raising almost $53,000 online in less than 24 hours to support and incredible project that will help bring a Wonder of the Worldto children of all ages around the globe.

Convert Your Works to the Interactive Book for the iPad

We need these funds to help send a crew to Peru to do hi-res, digital photography of the site that will be used to visually tell the story of what happened to this lost civilization in South America that was swallowed up into the Peruvian jungle until  it was “rediscovered” by American Archaeologist Hiram Bingham in 1911–and he himself raised funds in 1912 to go back and bring evidence of what it was like to share the world through black and white photos and early descriptions.

With the book we are building with the iPad, there will be 3-D animations to use and get a better understanding of this historic site that almost 1 million people visit each year from around the world.  We will have HD video, an incredible 3-D animated tour so if you never get to go, through our book you will feel like you’ve been there.  There will be incredible, breath-taking photography of the site and a historic account of the important aspects of Machu Picchu that you cannot get from just reading a book.

MAKE A PLEDGE

All you have to do is go right now to the Kickstarter.com site and make a pledge.  If we do not reach the goal by Tuesday 9 a.m. CDT, we will not receive a penny of funding and you will be charged NOTHING.

THEN ENCOURAGE EVERYONE YOU KNOW

We need your help to encourage everyone you know to also make a miracle happen.  The Inca deserve to have their story shared and preserved through the ages with this incredible technological development and it is not going to happen without your help and those of your social and personal networks.

Please, write your friends an email and send them this link and let them know you’re supporting this project and need your help to make this miracle happen.

Please.  Time is running out.  Save the story of the Inca and support our effort.  You will get some great rewards for doing so, and know through the course of time you helped a people from long, long ago.

12-Year-Old Twins Discuss Crowd Source Funding

Crowd Source Fundingis gaining popularity as a means for raising funds for start-up organizations that aren’t going through traditional means of raising capital and we here at TheWondersExpedition.com have been running a campaign with Kickstarter.com for almost three weeks now. Today, we are proud to share with you a video recently shot by 12-year-old twins, Reagan and Haley Claxton, who were kind enough to give it their best shot.

Reagan and Haley Claxton Explain Crowd Source Funding

We made this home-made video and did our best to throw in some humor with the subject.  After all, who expects 12 year olds to know anything about CSF?  Heck, most adults probably don’t even know what it is.

Essentially this is it:

  • We have a kickstarter.com campaign up to raise funds to develop an interactive book for the iPad on Machu Picchu in Peru.
  • In exchange for your pledge, you will receive cool rewards if we reach our funding goal.
  • If we don’t, and there admittedly is a possibility of that at this writing, we get nothing and those who have pledged get charged nothing.
  • When we do raise the funds, after a short delay and after paying Kickstarter and Amazon each 5 percent for helping us raise the funds, we’ll be scheduling a trip to Peru in June or July to go get this incredible book done.

That’s it.  But it’s much cuter to let the twins tell you….

Join Our Kickstarter.com Campaign For An Interactive Book for the iPad on Machu Picchu

We are going to build one of the first, coolest and most advanced Interactive Books for the iPad on Machu Picchu and we are asking for your help to do it through a campaign we’ve just launched on Kickstarter.com.

Machu Picchu in Peru, by David Hart

The details of the campaign are on Kickstarter.com but it’s on these pages of The Wonders Expedition where even the process of raising funds for the expedition are going to come alive and be interactive.

WE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP!

Please, jump over to Kickstarter.com after reading this short post and find out the particulars about the campaign, like how much we’re trying to raise ($57,766) and why (to create the coolest Interactive Book for the iPad yet!) and then help support our effort.  Once you’ve done that, please come back and stay engaged in the process.  Let us know you’ve made the contribution!

Send @Archeoastronomy on Twitter a message saying you’re part of the team!

Add a status update to your Facebook wallsaying you’re in and you don’t want your friends to be left behind!

Are you a TWE Backer on Kickstarter? Here's your chance!

And write your friends, family, colleagues, fellow students, etc. and tell them that you’re a part of something global and you want them to be, too.

Kickstarter.com is a crowd source fund-raising sites for startups and for cool projects like putting an expedition together 100 years after the site was first “re-discovered” and telling the story about it 100 years later with the advancement of technology that the Incas never could have imagined in 1438 when they started building it high in the Andes in Peru.

Oh, and don’t forget you can also add a badge to your Facebook wall, your emails and even your own blog site.

Interactive Question

If you were going to Machu Picchu, what would you want to know or see the most? Have you already been there and want to share photos?  Let us know!  This is what’s going to make this an incredibly fun and interactive project for everyone interested no matter where they are in the world.  And that’s what The Wonders Expedition is all about!

Once again, here’s the link!
