URGENT! Make A Mircacle Happen for the Ancient Inca Indians

URGENT.  PLEASE READ AND SHARE WITH ALL YOU KNOW.  TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

We don’t exactly know why the Inca Indians of Peru left their incredible hidden city of Machu Picchu in the Andes Mountains of Peru, but less than 24 hours now exist to help bring them back to life through our first of its kind-interactive book for the iPad we endeavor to design, shoot, write and build through a Kickstarter.com campaign you can still make a pledge to and support.  With your pledge, we stand a chance of creating a miracle–raising almost $53,000 online in less than 24 hours to support and incredible project that will help bring a Wonder of the Worldto children of all ages around the globe.

Convert Your Works to the Interactive Book for the iPad

We need these funds to help send a crew to Peru to do hi-res, digital photography of the site that will be used to visually tell the story of what happened to this lost civilization in South America that was swallowed up into the Peruvian jungle until  it was “rediscovered” by American Archaeologist Hiram Bingham in 1911–and he himself raised funds in 1912 to go back and bring evidence of what it was like to share the world through black and white photos and early descriptions.

With the book we are building with the iPad, there will be 3-D animations to use and get a better understanding of this historic site that almost 1 million people visit each year from around the world.  We will have HD video, an incredible 3-D animated tour so if you never get to go, through our book you will feel like you’ve been there.  There will be incredible, breath-taking photography of the site and a historic account of the important aspects of Machu Picchu that you cannot get from just reading a book.

MAKE A PLEDGE

All you have to do is go right now to the Kickstarter.com site and make a pledge.  If we do not reach the goal by Tuesday 9 a.m. CDT, we will not receive a penny of funding and you will be charged NOTHING.

THEN ENCOURAGE EVERYONE YOU KNOW

We need your help to encourage everyone you know to also make a miracle happen.  The Inca deserve to have their story shared and preserved through the ages with this incredible technological development and it is not going to happen without your help and those of your social and personal networks.

Please, write your friends an email and send them this link and let them know you’re supporting this project and need your help to make this miracle happen.

Please.  Time is running out.  Save the story of the Inca and support our effort.  You will get some great rewards for doing so, and know through the course of time you helped a people from long, long ago.

The Ultimate Field Trip–Teachers Take Your Students To Machu Picchu In Peru

No Permission Slips Required.

We promise.  With The Wonders Expedition’s Interactive Book for iPad on Machu Picchu, you’ll be able to take the whole class on the ultimate field trip and never leave your classroom.

And just imagine this concept–Parents begging you to take them, too!

What Is An Interactive Book for the iPad?

These incredible digital books go way beyond what’s available in paperback or e-Pub formats for Kindle and Nook.  These have 3-D animations, HD-video and hi-res photos complete with 360° tours.  It’s the mobile interactive museum you take with you and it becomes a field trip in the hands of the children in your classes.

Just think, with a few iPads your kids can tour Machu Picchu and see the view from the Temple of Three Windows, hear the rushing Urubamba River, and manipulate the ancient door to the city in an interactive 3-D animation.  There’ll be no need to check with the principal’s office, no need for buses, no need for t-shirts, no need for parent permission slips.  You just open the book and you’re there. Virtually.

But Like With All Field Trips….

Presently, we have a Kickstarter.com campaign underway  to raise support for the first and most extensive Interactive Book for the iPad on Machu Picchu, one of the “New Seven Wonders of the World,” located in the heart of the Andes Mountains in Peru in South America.

Most people will never get to visit this site that was “re-discovered” in the jungle 100 years ago.  The travel costs to go in person are expensive, particularly for a family with children.  The site is remote.  And the Peruvian government limits daily admittance to 2,500 people.

How This Book Will Help You Teach

We all want your students to grow up with a taste of all that’s going on in the world and let’s face it, the cost of travel, particularly in this economy isn’t easy.  And when it comes time for children to do book reports, research papers or the dreaded theme for class, we want them to have good resources that are easy to get to, will help them get a good sense of what they’re studying, and be able to use that information in a way that minimizes parents’ need/want to write it for them.

With our Interactive Books for the iPad, that’s one of the goals we have in mind as we approach each project.

We want you to be able to let your students explore the world and do so safely, with good, positive and informative content. We want you to be able to read and explore with them, or let the book handle the heavy lifting and help them learn with great, easy-to-understand interactive graphs, charts and examples that help today’s learners better conceptualize things about their world.

But We Need Your Help

Our effort for the Machu Picchu book in Peru is just beginning.  In order to go to Peru and gather up the 3-D animations, HD video and hi-res photos for the book, we have to send a crew to Peru from North America.   We intend to go in June/July and are raising funds through a crowd-sourcing Website called Kickstarter.com.   By pledging support for our project, backers are promised a collection of cool rewards, including t-shirts, copies of the book, a vote on one of the three final cover options, and for those who pledge $25 or more, they get their name in the back of the book.

The campaign to raise the funds is underway and goes until May 2.  That’s not a lot of time and we have a lot to raise.

Please think about the magic that can be shared with your children through an Interactive Book for the iPad that has great photos, imagery and video of one of the most mysterious places on Earth.  And please go to our Kickstarter.com campaign and make a pledge.  Help write history by backing this important, first-of-its-kind project.

Send @Archeoastronomy on Twitter a message saying you’re part of the team!

Add a status update to your Facebook wallsaying you’re in and you don’t want your friends to be left behind!

Are you a TWE Backer on Kickstarter? Here's your chance!

And write your friends, family, colleagues, fellow students, etc. and tell them that you’re a part of something global and you want them to be, too.

Kickstarter.com is a crowd source fund-raising sites for startups and for cool projects like putting an expedition together 100 years after the site was first “re-discovered” and telling the story about it 100 years later with the advancement of technology that the Incas never could have imagined in 1438 when they started building it high in the Andes in Peru.

Oh, and don’t forget you can also add a badge to your Facebook wall, your emails and even your own blog site.

Interactive Question

If you were going to Machu Picchu, what would you want to know or see the most? Have you already been there and want to share photos?  Let us know!  This is what’s going to make this an incredibly fun and interactive project for everyone interested no matter where they are in the world.  And that’s what The Wonders Expedition is all about!
